Recently in Milan's Galleria Carla Sozzani, an exhibition of the master of photography, Tim Volcker, began, which presents both well-known works by authors and previously not exhibited. The public will be able to appreciate the amazing world of these photographs, most of all reminiscent of colorful dreams.
Tim was born in England in 1970, graduated in 1994 from Exeter College of Art, after which he worked as a photographer for newspapers and magazines. Gradually, he developed his own style of work, evoking associations with the films of Tim Burton, with whom he collaborated on the Tricks & Treats project.
Volcker's photographs demonstrate the sublimity and grandeur of the moments he created, combining refined beauty and drama. They show scenes in which a colorful fantasy, sometimes brought to the point of absurdity, is opposed to the everyday and the ordinary. His works return viewers to deep childhood, when the impossible seemed real, to the world of fanciful forms and bright colors.
Sometimes the scary realism of photographs is given by the meticulousness of their execution and the absence of any post-processing. At Volcker's exhibitions, you can also see the scenery he uses, such as giant snails or a huge skeleton, which was part of a joint project with Tim Burton.
The exhibition started on January 23rd and will run until March 7th.
