For the photographer, the world around him is a constant and inexhaustible source of inspiration. Thousands of wildlife images have been submitted this year to B&H Wilderness Photo Competition, and the judges had to work hard to determine the winner. We present to your attention the best works presented in the photo competition.
The B&H Wilderness Photo Competition is supported by South African Airways and Wilderness Safaris, an ecotourism service provider. The event is aimed at raising awareness of the population about existing environmental problems and reminding once again how important it is to treat nature with care, preserving its wealth. The photographers who managed to professionally capture natural wonders received awards and valuable prizes.
Various nominations were presented in the competition: "Terrestrial mammals", "Marine organisms", "Culture / Wild places / People", "Amphibians and reptiles", "Man and the world around", "Animals in zoos and captivity", "Macro (flora, insects) "," Landscapes ".
The main prize in the competition was won by Briton Jamie MacArthur, who managed to capture a bird holding a freshly caught fish in its beak. In addition to the $ 500 prize that all 10 semi-finalists received, the winner received a unique trip to Botswana for a one-of-a-kind safari. The cost of the tour is impressive - $ 22,000.
Another prize went to the American Charles Chessler, the author of the impressive autumn landscape of New York's central park. Having won the People's Choice nomination in the audience vote, he received the right to travel to Namibia, where he will also take part in a safari (his ticket is cheaper, $ 16,400).
Through these wonderful photographs, the organizers of the competition wanted to remind viewers that the way future generations will see this planet depends only on our actions today. Traveling, new acquaintances, time spent alone with nature - all this makes it possible to sincerely love the land on which you live, and to realize that the path of its salvation is thorny, but by making efforts, together we can make our life brighter!
