The well-known phrase "a talented person is talented in everything" can not be attributed to the outstanding artist Bob Dylan. In addition to writing music and performing songs, he realized himself as a poet and actor. A year ago, this man was awarded one of the most prestigious awards in the world - the Nobel Prize. However, this is far from the only achievement of the artist. Another facet of his talent is painting.
Bob Dylan picked up brushes and paints in the 1960s, when, due to a motorcycle accident, he had to interrupt his touring activities and spend some time at home. However, his work was presented to the public only after 30 years. In 1994, the artist's album-collection of sketches "Drawn Blank" was released.
The personal exhibition of Bob Dylan's work took place only in 2007. The works were exhibited at the Chemnitz Art Gallery (Chemnitz Museum of Fine Arts, Germany). After the exhibition was a success, the artist revised his archives more thoroughly and created new works.
Experts believe that the singer's writing style was influenced by the work of the Fauves, Post-Impressionists, and Neo-Expressionists. Bob Dylan is not afraid to use bright colors, to make bold strokes. He uses watercolor, gouache, acrylic, pastel, oil paints.
