When the girl found the squirrel, he was barely four weeks old. He fell from a tree, hurt himself, and was clearly afraid of everything around. At first, the girl hoped that the squirrel mother would return for her cub and take him, but the mother still did not come. After waiting one day, the girl took the cub home and took him to the vet.
The veterinarian examined the baby and found out that the poor thing had badly bruised his paw - a large bruise had formed in this place. The doctor told how to take care of this unusual pet: how to feed, how to care, how to keep.
Over the next couple of days, the hematoma grew, and I had to visit the vet again, who prescribed antibiotics and pain relievers to the squirrel. The squirrel was supposed to sleep a lot, rest and eat well. Along the way, Joey - and this is the name the owner gave to the squirrel - tasted everything that was within his reach. And the stronger Joey's health became, the more tasty he found at the girl's house. Pencils, threads on a sweater, cosmetics, carpets, even the girl's hair - everything had to be tested on the tooth.
Of course, keeping a squirrel at home is quite troublesome. This is a very energetic animal, often they cannot even be tamed at all. However, Joey likes to communicate with people, he gladly allows himself to be stroked, spends a lot of time with the owner and, in general, manifests himself as a curious, cheerful animal. However, the girl admits that she plans to release Joey to live free, because he will be much more comfortable there than in a cage at her house. Gradually, she accustom him to nature outside the human home and hopes that in the end Joey will be able to adapt to an independent life.
