Lionella Skirda was known not only as an actress and recognized beauty, who was called the Soviet Gina Lollobrigida, but also as the wife of the famous director Ivan Pyriev and actor Oleg Strizhenov. She earned a reputation as a femme fatale and the first heartbreaker of Soviet cinema, she was reproached for prudence and self-interest, but she herself loved only one person all her life, with whom fate brought her and separated her more than once …
Lionella owed her unusual name to an Italian woman who worked in a shop in the port city. Her mother, a sailor, and father, a ship mechanic, met her on the voyage and decided that they would call their daughter that. Lionella was born and raised in Odessa. She became interested in theater in her youth and after school decided to enter the capital's theater university. Without saying anything to her parents, the girl left for Moscow and only after enrolling in the State Institute of Theater Arts. A. Lunacharsky announced her decision to them.
After graduation, Lionella Skirda began performing on the stage of the theater. K. Stanislavsky, and after another 3 years she became an actress of the Moscow State Theater of Film Actor. While still a student, she began acting in films, and at 23 she played her first major role in the film "Free Wind". The director admitted that the debutante attracted his attention with her wasp waist and bright beauty. At the institute, her fellow students nicknamed her Lina Lolloskirdina - the external resemblance to the Italian movie star Gina Lollobrigida was indeed very noticeable.
This similarity was also noticed by the person whose love she carried through her whole life. Even when Lionella had just finished school, the film crew of the film "Mexican", where Oleg Strizhenov was filmed, came to Odessa. Like many residents of the city, the girl came to see the capital's artists. In the crowd of onlookers Strizhenov saw a young beauty and approached her with the words: "" They talked a little, and the next day the artists left.
Later Strizhenov admitted that he will forever remember their first meeting: "".
I remembered this meeting and Lionella, who told about it like this: "".
The next time they met in Yalta, when Lionella was already an actress and starred in her first leading role in the film "Free Wind". There was another meeting a year later. After the premiere of the film, a whirlwind romance broke out between the actors, but Lionella could not count on its continuation - Strizhenov was married and raised a little daughter. And in the life of the actress, another man appeared, who became her first husband. This marriage then made a lot of noise, because the aspiring actress married the famous director Ivan Pyriev, who was 36 years older than her.
Then everyone was sure that for Lionella it was a marriage of convenience - she was just beginning her film career, and the former head of Mosfilm was one of the most influential figures in Soviet cinema. She thought that the formidable and omnipotent Pyryev would appear before her, but in reality everything was different. The actress recalled: "".
This marriage lasted only 6 years, until Pyriev passed away. During this time, Lionella Pyryeva ran into Oleg Strizhenov several times at receptions, but they did not communicate. And only after her husband passed away, they met again on the set, after 13 years of separation. In 1975 g.both actors starred in the film "The Last Victim", and suddenly both realized that this meeting was not accidental - fate gave them another chance, and this time they had no right to miss it. Strizhenov at that time was already divorced, and there were no longer any obstacles to their relationship.
Strizhenov made Pyryeva an offer, and she agreed to become his wife. The actress said: "". Since then, they have never parted. In 1976, the actors played a wedding, and in 2010 they got married. Strizhenov admitted: "".
After 1987, Lionella Strizhenova stopped acting in films and decided to devote herself entirely to her family. She explained her choice as follows: "". She never regretted her choice, because she finally got what she had dreamed of all her life - a strong and happy family.
He was called one of the brightest Soviet actors, but the directors were afraid to offer him roles: Why Oleg Strizhenov earned the fame of an "inconvenient" hero.
