Uspensky is outraged by the release of new episodes of "Prostokvashino"

The premiere of the new series of the cartoon "Prostokvashino", which will take place on the Internet, is scheduled for April. Eduard Uspensky, based on whose works the first cartoons of this series were filmed, was dissatisfied with the intention of the Soyuzmultfilm studio to release new series of the cartoon. The studio noted that the famous writer has not yet seen a single new cartoon.

The first screening of new stories about Prostokvashino was held only for journalists on March 2. Cinema "Moscow" was chosen as the place of the show. Uspensky was not among those invited to this event, and he was indignant to write this. According to him, the chairman of the board, Yuliana Slashcheva, is constantly trying to bypass the author to introduce new series. Similarly, the studio is trying to steal characters that were invented by the writer.

The studio noted that so far it has not been possible to establish relations with Eduard Uspensky, although everyone would have looked into the scripts he had with pleasure and used his ideas in new episodes of the cartoon. Yuliana Slashcheva said that all the financial obligations assumed by the Soyuzmultfilm studio are being fulfilled and the writer receives payments.

Last year, Ouspensky drew up a letter addressed to Vladimir Putin, where he said that the continuation of the cartoon "Prostokvashino" was filmed without his consent. At the end of November, information appeared in the press about the studio's proposal to buy out new works from the writer for 5 million Russian rubles. For this amount the studio wanted to buy works that were written after the creation of the last cartoon from the Prostokvashino series.

But Ouspensky himself did not confirm the receipt of such a proposal and noted that he had learned about it only from the press. Among other things, he considers the sum of 5 thousand rubles to be frivolous. The characters of Prostokvashino are, in his opinion, much more. And he gave an example that the Japanese TV Tokyo company paid an amount of $ 3 million and this is only an advance payment.

Ouspensky is not opposed to negotiating with the Soyuzmultfilm studio. It will be possible to find a way out of this situation only if the studio discusses with the author the distribution of income planned from the sale of new cartoons.

New series "Prostokvashino" are planned to be released in 2018-2020. There will be a total of 30 episodes of 6, 5 minutes each. When creating them, we decided to adhere to the traditional hand-drawn animation technique, so that the differences from the old cartoons were minimal.
