How education will look like from September 1, 2021 remains one of the main and painful questions for schoolchildren and their parents. According to the representative of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov, a proposal was put forward for discussion to introduce distance learning in Russian schools starting this year.
Kravtsov also noted that preparations are already underway to launch this process. During the summer period, equipment should be purchased for many schools, which will allow conducting the same educational process in all schools. In addition, our scientists are developing software that will replace the existing training sites and will bring the learning process to the same standard. According to Sergey Kravtsov: "Distance learning forms are an important element of the educational process, which significantly expands the possibilities of students." That is why, based on the situation in the country caused by the COVID-19 virus pandemic, and relying on the opinion of doctors who predict a repeated outbreak of the virus, the Ministry of Education is going to legislate the concept of "distance education".
From mid-March to the present, you can hear disgruntled parents talking about the fact that not all children can be involved in the educational process through distance learning. Many families lack computers, without which the learning process is simply impossible. The Ministry of Education assured that every needy child will be able to get a laptop for free in order to be able to study. If necessary, the teaching staff are ready to teach the skills of working in the format of distance education. At the moment, supplements to manuals for teachers have already been compiled and published.
During a meeting on the sanitary and epidemiological situation on June 29, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that at the moment the school year is planned to start as usual. But only on condition of a favorable epidemiological situation. When carrying out the lines on September 1, all anti-epidemiological measures must be followed. In universities, it is also not planned to postpone the beginning of training to a later date.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, is convinced that distance education cannot replace live communication between students and teachers, despite the fact that the development of technologies in education is important and undoubtedly should take place.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, in his speech at a meeting of the State Duma, announced that the decision on the format in which the new academic year will start will be made on August 20, based on the current epidemiological situation.
