Unique icons created by the Crimean master, theater and film actor Vladimir Denshchikov … Firstly, they are voluminous and look like sculptural miniatures under glass. Secondly, Vladimir Denshchikov weaves them from a thin linen thread - each such icon is created using the macrame technique, from million tiny knots … Only the faces and palms of the saints are painted on canvas - then the technique is called macrame collage. Vladimir Denshchikov believes that the Lord God led him to this creativity, having discouraged him from acting with a stroke. The disease struck the actor just before the theatrical premiere, and he would have remained an immovable "cactus" if not for his relatives, loved ones, and not creativity. Before getting to the hospital, Vladimir Denshchikov began work on the icon for the lighthouse church in the Crimean village of Malorechenskoye, and decided at all costs to finish it, as he had promised the abbot. Lying under the dropper, the artist continued to weave knots, and felt that his paralyzed hand was moving more and more freely, as if it were controlled by the Almighty himself.

For her, the artist takes a thin half-millimeter thread from pure flax, since it is flax that he associates with Orthodoxy, then moistens them with water and folds the threads one to the other. This is how the fabric is made. All other elements of the icons are hand-tied knots, again, in the author's technique, as unique as its results. An artist spends from three months to six months on one icon. Today he is considered the founder of a new trend in icon-making.
