Of course, many photographers are ready to amaze us with their most interesting works, non-trivial subjects, and beautiful shooting. But Czech photographer Michal Macku went much further: in the late 1980s, he invented his own technique, called “slug”. The results will amaze in form and scare in content even the most ardent lover of post-modernism and surrealism.
"Gellage" - this word is a combination of the words "gelatin" and "collage". The essence of this unique technology - in overlaying a layer of photogelatin on paper, which in the end can lead to absolutely amazing results: gelatin changes the photo beyond recognition. Michal Macku's work is truly impossible to compare with anything else: an incredible combination of objects, achieved without any photoshop.
Michal Macku was born in 1963 in Czechoslovakia. Since childhood, I wanted to be an artist and was interested in various forms of art: painting, graphics, sculpture. His works are very dark, in them the theme of the external and internal struggle of a person is perfectly realized. And thanks to the new technique, many of these works can be pretty scary - impossible things are shown very realistically in real life. But they are worth seeing, if only because of their uniqueness.
