She was born on April 4, 1949 in the most ordinary family, where Raikhan Sharafutdinov's mother was a surgeon, and her father Ivan Sheludko, who went through the Great Patriotic War and had the rank of Guard Major, served as the administrator of the Union State Circus. Since childhood, Galina Sheludko has been an active participant in amateur performances and enjoyed attending classes in a theatrical circle at the Palace of Pioneers.
Immediately after leaving school, Galina Sheludko did not enter the theater institute, but got a job at the Moscow Puppet Theater. The theater-studio "Zhavoronok" worked under him, headed by the chief director Boris Isaakovich Ablynin. At the age of 18, Galina had already played the main roles in the performances of Lark and was in very good standing.
The actress married Gennady Venevitinov, a teacher of GITIS, entered the correspondence course at GITIS, and later gave birth to a son. Galina Venevitinova loved her profession so much that she did not even sit on maternity leave. A few days before the birth of her son, she still went on stage, and just a few days after being discharged from the maternity hospital, she was again at the rehearsal, fortunately, the close actresses gladly helped her with the baby.
After Galina graduated from GiTIS, she went to work at Mosconcert, where she was invited as a reader. A year later, in 1974, she took part in auditioning for actors at the Moscow Youth Theater, whose troupe was not staffed due to the massive transfer of actors to the Mossovet Theater. Some of the artists moved there after the chief director Pavel Chomsky.
The artistic council accepted Galina Venevitinova without hesitation. The actress conquered everyone with her talent and versatile abilities: in addition to her dramatic talent, she had excellent vocal abilities, she felt the rhythm perfectly, and danced well. An important role was played by the fact that the actress looked much younger than her age, this is especially appreciated in the Youth Theater.
Theater and cinema
Galina Venevitinova became a real find for the Youth Theater. She skillfully reincarnated in different characters and was always ready to go on stage. Over the ten years of her work in the theater, the actress has appeared on stage more than 1200 times. According to the recollections of the audience, Galina Venevitinova was simply inimitable in the image of Milady in the play "The Three Musketeers", which thundered all over Moscow at that time. She was urgently introduced to the production instead of another actress, and "The Three Musketeers" only benefited from this.
Unfortunately, this happened very often: Galina Venevitinova usually did not participate in premiere screenings, and therefore remained out of sight of critics, who usually wrote reviews and noted the actors just after the premieres. The actress, on the other hand, often remained in the shadow of her more successful colleagues. But she never complained about fate, always worked at full strength, remained optimistic and believed in her lucky star.
The actress was often invited to television. She took part in the filming of programs for the Main Directorate of External Relations of the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting, intended to be shown to a foreign audience. Galina Venevitinova played the main role in the Soviet-British educational TV film Goodbye Summer, released in 1980.
Alexander Nikolaevich Polynnikov, one of the directors of the film "Take care of women", saw Galina Venevitinova on TV in some kind of TV show while he was working as a cameraman at the Odessa film studio. The actress then made an indelible impression on him and, becoming a director, Polynnikov offered the actress the role of Vali in the film "Take care of women", which he never regretted. The actress has created a very harmonious image of a bright, funny girl who is endlessly in love with the sea and with her difficult profession of a mechanic-minder of the tug "Cyclone".
And the audience did not even realize that during the filming of the film, this actress already knew about her fatal diagnosis, but was determined not to leave her job as long as possible. The actress turned to doctors for help, feeling a rapid deterioration in health, which at first Galina Venevitinova attributed to fatigue. But the results of the examination were disappointing, and the diagnosis sounded like a sentence: lymphosarcoma. Treatment only slightly slowed down the course of the disease.
Galina Venevitinova did not give up, she bravely underwent chemotherapy courses, and then hurried to the theater again and again. When colleagues suggested that she take care of herself and reduce the load, the actress just shook her head and said: "If I just lie, I will die earlier."
In 1982, the actress starred in another film by Alexander Polynnikov, "Just horror." True, her role in the film was small and in the frame she appeared only for a few minutes.
On December 8, 1983, she appeared on the theatrical stage for the last time in the production of Newcomer, where she played a teacher. At that time, the actress was already tormented by severe pain, from which no injections helped. But she still hurried to rehearsals almost every day, preparing for the premiere of the play Three Days Away, where she did not have time to play.
On December 29, 1983, Galina Venevitinova passed away. On December 31, she was buried at the Dolgoprudnensky (Southern) cemetery of the capital.
