The famous singer, who was loved all over the world for her unique voice, gave birth to her only son at the age of 39. For the sake of the opportunity to know the joy of motherhood, Anna German risked her own life and refused to take into account the prohibitions of doctors, who had every reason to doubt the positive outcome of the singer's pregnancy and childbirth. Son Zbigniew became the meaning of the singer's life, and today he categorically refuses to listen to songs performed by his mother.
A dream come true
Eight years before the birth of her son, Anna German was in a car accident in Italy. Only a miracle could save Anna German, who received 49 fractures and numerous injuries to internal organs. She did not regain consciousness for a whole week, and due to a fracture of the spine, she was immobilized for six months, which she spent wrapped in a plaster shell. Later, for several months, the singer had to gradually, step by step, return to normal life, when every movement was accompanied by unthinkable pain, and she learned to breathe, sit and walk anew.
And yet she found the strength not only to return to the stage. The main role in her desire to survive at any cost was then played by Zbigniew Tucholski. He was invariably close to his beloved woman, helped her take her first steps, spoon-fed her and talked about the time when she recovers and they will be able to enjoy life, watch the sunsets, meet the sunrises and raise children.
In 1972, Anna German married a loved one, and three years after the wedding, she delighted her husband with the news of an imminent replenishment in their family. Doctors insisted on terminating the pregnancy, fearing that after the injuries sustained in a car accident, she would not be able to bear and give birth to a baby.
But Anna German was adamant and refused to deprive her unborn baby of the right to life. At the end of November 1975, Zbigniew Tucholski Jr. was born, and the singer finally experienced the most real happiness. She had everything that she once could only dream of: a loving husband and beloved son Zbyshek, music and an army of millions of listeners. Anna German was then already 39 years old, but she believed: now she has a long and happy life ahead of her.
Unbearable pain
Zbyshek was not yet five years old when Anna German learned about her terrible diagnosis. But she did not lose hope to emerge victorious in the fight against cancer. She stubbornly continued to go on stage and delight the audience with her creativity, not wanting to cancel the already appointed concerts. Only more and more often she sang in big dark glasses, behind which she hid her tears. She didn't want to cry, but the pain was just unbearable.
Several postponed operations did not give the expected effect, later Anna German could no longer perform, and in August 1982 she died. Zbigniew Tucholski and little Zbyszek were left without a loving wife and mother.
Fortunately, the mother of Anna Herman Irma Berner helped Zbigniew Sr. with the upbringing of the boy. During the singer's life, the son-in-law and mother-in-law had far from the warmest relations. But the general grief and desire to raise Zbyshek as a good person prevailed over emotions and old resentments.
Anna's son German grew up surrounded by the love and care of the closest people. Irma Berner devoted herself entirely to her grandson, her father spent all his time with him. And I didn't even want to think about other women. Anna German remained his only love forever. And Zbigniew Jr. grew up remarkably like his dad. The same tall, stately and self-contained.
Both in childhood and in adulthood, he categorically refused to listen to songs performed by Anna German. If they were on the radio, he could just get up and leave the room. Zbigniew Jr. himself does not comment on his attitude to the work of his mother, but it can be assumed that the pain after the death of the closest person did not let him go. His mental trauma turned out to be too strong and deep.
Both the husband and the son of the performer lead a very closed lifestyle. The elder Tucholsky has long been retired, and the younger, after graduating from the Faculty of History and defending his thesis, worked as a teacher at the institute, and later headed the Polish Society of Lovers of Narrow Gauge Railways.
Now he serves as an appraiser in the Ministry of Culture of Poland and enthusiastically devotes all his time to his favorite business - the history of railway transport. He has no wife or children. Father and son Tucholsky never tried to legalize their rights to songs performed by Anna German, which could bring them quite a decent income. But they both refuse to receive any dividends from the use of the memory of the closest person.
And they prefer to live in such a way that no one can reproach them for selling their feelings.
She enjoyed immense popularity in the Soviet Union, her records were instantly sold out, and her voice was mesmerizing. She received letters from all over the vast country, men confessed their love to her and made proposals. But the heart of a Polish beauty with an unearthly voice was occupied. All her life Anna Herman loved her Zbigniew Tucholski.

What does the composer Wagner have to do with the Third Reich, and why his music is never performed in Israel
It is believed that art should not intersect with politics, that it lies above the human struggle for power and money. But in reality, it often happens that individual works become means of influencing the minds and hearts of the masses. Take at least any national anthem - this is music turned into a symbol that unites people and evokes pride in their country in their hearts. There is one very dark example in history of how the art of the great composer became the score for the creation of a whole t
