Bryan Nash Gill creates photorealistic large-format wood cross-section prints. Through painting the section surface and laborious imprinting techniques, Brian is able to transfer the actual size, texture, and shape of wood onto paper. Every detail, accurately and accurately printed, presents the viewer with the inner world and even the heart of the tree itself.
I think all lovers of natural textures will simply be delighted with such works of art. One of Brian Nash Gill's most famous works is Hemlock 82. Simple yet luxurious, it is a cross-sectional cut of large diameter wood with interesting shape and texture, printed on a blank sheet of paper.
Living not far from the old mill, Brian quite often walks in those places where you can find various interesting specimens of trees and brings them to his studio for further processing and creating his masterpieces. In order to create a painting, artist Brian Nash Gill first prepares a cut of a tree, the entire surface of which is painted with ink. Then all this is covered from above with a clean white sheet. Delicately and lightly pressing on the paper, the master slowly transfers the print to the paper. This is how a painting is born, which will then be sold for $ 4,000.
Brian Nash Gill has received many awards and has been featured in various exhibitions in museums and galleries, mainly in the United States and Japan.
