The name of Elena Yakovleva is known today to almost everyone who is interested in Russian cinema. And once she dreamed of becoming a tram driver or conductor. Elena Yakovleva loved trains since childhood, and fate gave her the opportunity to fully enjoy travel, because her profession involves many tours, filming in different cities and, of course, meetings on the way, random and planned, but always very important.

First trips

She was born into a military family, and therefore fell in love with trains already in childhood, because the family often had to move after her father from place to place. Then Elena Yakovleva fell in love with the calm clatter of wheels, stunning views from the window and incredibly delicious tea that could only be tasted on the train. Elena Yakovleva at the school graduation gave herself the word to become an actress, whatever the cost. True, before going to conquer the capital, the future actress managed to work as a librarian, cartographer and picker. So the girl collected money for a trip to the capital and dreamed of how she would one day sit on the train and go to a new life.

She entered GITIS from the very first attempt, and then the life of the young actress flew only forward, like a real high-speed train. The first filming in the cinema took place in her student years. After graduation, she was immediately admitted to the renowned Sovremennik. Then there was the film "Intergirl", all-Union fame and the series "Kamenskaya", which made the actress the favorite of the whole country.

And the trains in which she traveled to and from the set, on tour and home … And completely different fellow travelers who ended up in the same compartment or in the neighboring classroom. Some of them stayed in her life for a long time, and someone just passed by and during a short trip managed to play an important role in her fate.

Important decision

The meeting on the Leningrad-Moscow train played a fateful role in the life of Elena Yakovleva. The priest turned out to be a fellow traveler, with whom the actress did not say a word for the entire time on the way and in a word, she simply greeted, entering the compartment. And in the morning, the priest simply asked whether she was baptized or not. Hearing a negative answer, he ordered to be baptized.

Surprisingly, Elena Yakovleva was baptized on the same day, on her way home from the station. She went to the Yelokhovskaya church, voiced her desire, and it was immediately fulfilled. The godmother of the actress was a minister of the same church. Later, Yakovleva was told that she was very lucky, in the Yelokhovskaya church they do not baptize every day.

The best travel companion

The trip as an excuse to get married

For the first time, Elena Yakovleva got married while studying at GITIS. Her first husband was an actor, and in the future, the artistic director of the Trans-Baikal Regional Drama Theater in Chita, Sergei Yulin. But the student marriage turned out to be very hasty and fragile. After only six months, Yakovleva and Yulin had already parted ways.

The actress met her second husband Valery Shalnykh already in Sovremennik. They had been dating for five years, and the actress really liked this feeling of falling in love, touching courtship, bouquets of flowers from a loved one. Later, Elena Yakovleva admits: she deliberately prolonged the courtship period.

They signed on March 3, 1990, between the morning rehearsal of Days of the Turbins and the evening performance. The reason was very simple: they had a tour in Riga, and without a stamp in their passport, no one would have lodged them in the same room in a hotel. So the trip was also guilty of the actress's marriage. 30 years have passed since then, and the spouses are still as happy as on the day when they put their signatures in the registry office registration book. In 1992, their son Denis was born.

All life is on the way

She still loves trains as she did as a child. They give her new impressions and meetings. Here you can talk about nothing and hear something very important for yourself. True, sometimes it happened that she did not understand how long it was on the road and where she was going. It was during the filming of the TV series "Kamenskaya", when the actress played in a play in Moscow, then got on the train and went to Minsk to shoot. After working the day on the site, she again got on the train in the evening and went now to Moscow.

However, she will never give up on an interesting trip. For example, to the North Pole, where the actress went with the children from the "Rosatom School", with whom she made friends during the production of the play "THE LITTLE Prince". Or on tour to Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk.
