She was born in the third marriage of Semyon Mikhailovich Budyonny and, undoubtedly, became his favorite, although the sons Sergei and Mikhail also could not complain about the lack of attention from their father. Nina Semyonovna Budyonnaya retained many fond memories of her parents, and in her own life there was a marriage with the famous actor Mikhail Derzhavin, and a great love, because of which she destroyed her family.

Father's daughter

Semyon Mikhailovich Budyonny was married three times. But his first wife died due to careless handling of weapons, the second was arrested and sent to the camps. But with the third wife, Maria, Semyon Budyonny was introduced by the mother of Olga Stefanovna, the second wife of the marshal. Maria Vasilievna was 33 years younger than her husband, but this did not prevent their happiness.

Three children were born in the marriage: Sergei, Nina and Mikhail. When the youngest child was born, the marshal was asked if it was difficult for him to mess with children at such a respectable age. 60-year-old Semyon Mikhailovich only smiled happily and answered: "I've been waiting for this for so long!"

Ninochka came to this world in 1939. For her, dad bought dolls, which at night, when the baby was already asleep, he planted by her bed. And she dreamed of a toy rifle presented to Sergei that fired wooden bullets. Sergei was only a year older and did not give his sister the coveted toy in his hands.

But Nina could climb into her dad's arms and smooth out her father's chic mustache, whispering: "Kitty!" From this simple tenderness, the heart of the legendary commander melted.

Nina was only 4 when her father first put her on a pony, but the little horse was obstinate and after Nina was taken off her, she managed to trample the girl's leg. Nina Budyonnaya returned to real pursuits only two years later, very much in love with horses. And all the children of Semyon Mikhailovich were first-class fencers. Including Nina. True, the mother did not let the children go to competitions and training camps, she only allowed them to attend classes.

The father taught the children to play billiards, considering this fun to be very useful, but none of the heirs could beat him at checkers, so developed was Semyon Budyonny's strategic thinking.

He raised his sons and daughter strictly, but with love. Usually, all of them had enough stern, loud voice of their father to realize their guilt. But never after "serious conversations" Semyon Budyonny did not let go of the children in silence. He invariably called to himself, asked if what he just said was clear, and then he kissed it.

The Marshal considered it his duty to help those who turned to him, and taught the same to his children. In general, he was an honest and deeply decent person and really wanted his sons and daughter to grow up like that.

After leaving school, Nina decided to enter the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University. She studied with enthusiasm, inheriting a natural curiosity from her father. The girl always had enough friends, but her close friend was Yulia Khrushcheva, the granddaughter of Nikita Sergeevich, adopted by him and his wife at the age of three after the death of their son.

It was Julia who introduced Nina to Mikhail Derzhavin, a young talented actor who recently parted ways with his first wife, Ekaterina Raikina. The acquaintance turned out to be very successful: the young people were imbued with mutual sympathy for each other.

Mikhail Derzhavin became the first gentleman whom Nina brought into the house to acquaint her parents. The parents liked the handsome and charming young man. Only mom, Maria Vasilievna, was uncomfortable that her daughter began to leave too late on dates. For Mikhail Mikhailovich, the performances ended after ten in the evening, and then it was time for his personal life.

Semyon Mikhailovich did not interfere with his daughter's personal life, but approved Mikhail's candidacy. They played a wedding, in 1963 the only daughter of the spouses, Maria, was born.

After graduation, Nina Semyonovna worked at the Novosti Press Agency in the department of culture for fine arts, in which she later became a senior editor. Later she moved to the Journalist publication, was a literary contributor to the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper and the Culture and Life magazine, published in the Theater magazine, and published her own book Old Stories.

She was not destined to live her whole life with Mikhail Derzhavin: Nina Budyonnaya met a man who gave her real serious feelings. She knew for sure that her father would never approve of her decision to divorce her husband, but Semyon Mikhailovich was no longer alive, and Maria Vasilievna was able to accept the choice of her daughter.

The second husband of Budyonny's heiress was the talented artist Nikolai Ponomarev, who headed the Union of Artists of the USSR for 20 years. Nina Semyonovna herself also became an artist. In the late 1990s, Nina Budyonnaya became a widow, and in 2000 she acquired a small house in the region of the Upper Volga lakes, where she lives from April to October.

This house became a source of inspiration for Nina Budyonnaya. In an effort to decorate her home, she looked for old Soviet carpets, but she could not find suitable copies. And then she began to create carpets herself, however, they look more like real paintings. Her works are bright, joyful, filled with emotions and a sense of humor.

Nina Semyonovna Budyonnaya still lives and works in Moscow, enjoys communicating with her daughter and grandchildren, Peter and Pavel.
