German collective "Inges Idee" was puzzled by the question: why only people can wear jewelry, and inanimate objects are deprived of this pleasure? Say, a multi-storey car park - doesn't it deserve a couple of beads or bracelets? "Deserves!" - the authors of the idea decided and presented the building with a dozen ornaments for every taste.
The building, which received an original gift from designers in the form of decorations of various sizes, is located in Düsseldorf, on Karlsplatz. Bright beads, as well as chains and bracelets in gold and silver are especially noticeable on the white facade of the building.
Why did the authors decide to decorate the parking lot - it would seem, a place far from aesthetics? In fact, everything is completely logical. Firstly, the multi-storey garage is adjacent to the building of the shopping center, where fashionistas from all over the city come to shop. Secondly, the facade of the parking lot with many holes was the best fit for fixing decorations. And, finally, the building located in the old part of the city was too out of the picture, and the huge size of the jewelry turned it into a local landmark.
Inges Idee is a group of four artists, founded in 1992, mainly involved in the creation of urban installations. It includes Hans Hemmert (Berlin, Germany), Axel Lieber (Malmö, Sweden), Thomas A. Schmidt (Cologne, Germany) and Georg Zey (Berlin, Germany). In addition to group creativity, each author can boast of his own successful career.

How a house-ship, buildings on "chicken legs" and other oddities appeared in an old Siberian city in the 1970s
The architecture of the old city of Irkutsk delights with wooden architecture and Siberian Baroque, however, in addition to this, you can find many strange buildings here, as if anticipating the time with their originality. The style of these houses is non-rutalism, or, as it is also called by local lovers of architecture, “Irkutsk Renaissance”. Such buildings were built in the city mainly in the 1970s and 1980s: then non-rutalism was in vogue in our country. True, there is still controversy about whether they are beautiful
The oldest residential buildings still inhabited: Where are these buildings and what they look like?
Many ancient cities and houses are known in the world, but the overwhelming majority of them have survived to this day either in the form of ruins or in a greatly altered form. And very few of these buildings and settlements were able to retain their original appearance and remain inhabited. It is very difficult to identify the most ancient of them, but nevertheless such attempts are constantly being made. The oldest residential buildings in the world are very attractive, because they are silent witnesses of a century or even a thousand years of history
House-glass in St. Petersburg: why were communal buildings similar to corn built in the city on the Neva
Glass houses became one of the experiments of Soviet modernism in the second half of the last century. Several such skyscrapers were built in St. Petersburg (and then still in Leningrad). The most famous is located in Kupchin at the address: Budapeshtskaya street, 103. This cylindrical building is also called the "house-corn". And its tenants, like corn seeds, huddled in cramped cells-rooms. What to do - initially everything here was arranged according to the principle of a house-commune

Magnificent Riga: the city with the world's largest collection of Art Nouveau buildings
Art Nouveau or Art Nouveau was popular in Europe in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. As an architectural style, Art Nouveau is quite heterogeneous - it varies from city to city. The entrance pavilions of the Paris Metro, Gaudí's Casa Batlló in Barcelona, the Metropol Hotel in Moscow are all examples of Art Nouveau. But Riga is famous for the greatest concentration of architecture in this style - the central streets of Riga are simply dotted with buildings with fancy plant decors
