Teri Malo Is a talented modern landscape painter. A series of her paintings "Pondscapes" (which literally means "lake landscapes") was written in the best traditions of impressionism. The artist depicts the unsteady water surface, masterfully conveying the fleeting beauty of the surrounding world.
The color palette of Teri's works is slightly muted, there are no bright colors. The painting, which depicts a water lily, resembles in style the most famous series of paintings by Claude Monet. Teri Malo says that she once observed how a fragile water lily floated across the pond, obeying the force of a gusty wind. The artist tried to create a dynamic image.
Teri Malo paints landscapes at different times of the year, so in the paintings you can see blossoming flowers, and yellow fallen leaves, and gray thunderclouds reflected in the water. The author deliberately erases the boundaries between the sky, the shore and the pond. She explains that with her works she wants to enable viewers to forget about the rapid pace of modern life, encourages them to stop and watch how time flows smoothly in nature.
“Much of what we call the 'real' world can only be seen in my paintings as an inverted puzzle. To imagine what a forest surrounding a pond looks like, you need to collect many reflected details into a single whole. My works are a mechanism that allows the viewer's attention to be diverted simultaneously to the known and unknown world, thus, you can see everything that is around, below and above, at the same time,”says Teri Malo.
More works by the talented artist can be seen on her personal website.

Exhibition "Free: Contemporary Art After Frida Kahlo" ("Unbound: Contemporary Art After Frida Kahlo")
Frida Kahlo is one of the first names that come to mind when it comes to women who changed the history of visual arts. The fearless surrealist has acquired an almost mythical status. Rainbow landscapes by a self-taught Chinese artist who was named the best neo-impressionist of the late 20th century
Some artists, possessing the skill of hyperrealism, try to surprise the viewer by prescribing even the smallest details on their canvases with photographic accuracy; others write as if they were sculpting shapes from rough strokes. Their work close up is a mess and sheer daub, and when you step away you can't take your eyes off. But the self-taught painter with outstanding talent and original artistic style, Ken Hong Leung, takes his viewer with a magic palette, which, shimmering, plays with the entire spectrum of the rainbow. Magic, yeah
"On Lake Chad": giraffes in contemporary art
Thick eyelashes, a sad look from under half-closed eyelids, a head held high, beautifully set on a graceful neck. This is not a portrait of the artist's languid muse, but a description of another sweetest creature - a giraffe
Contemporary art from Konstantin Zolotarev. Contemporary Christian art or icon painting style
The icon painting style created for the depiction of saints and Christ is aimed at displaying a different reality. Therefore, in the icon, the portrait resemblance of a saint to a person who actually lived once is not in principle, since it reflects a transformed person who is in the upper world. But after all, the saints once lived on earth, they were like us, they ate and drank and had practically the same problems as modern man
