How can a little-known artist grab the public's attention without using shocking material or overusing special effects? Impose as much self-restraint on yourself as possible, says a young Hungarian photographer Bence Bakonyi.
In his works, one cannot find either a riot of colors or whimsical composition - everything is verified to the last detail. The result is discouraging: the people in his photographs become invisible, and the dream is mixed with reality. How does this happen?
Bence Bakonyi - holder of a degree in photography, hence the severity of the "rules of the game", which he established for himself, and the noticeable influence of the ideas of surrealism and the Bauhaus. But respect for academic tradition alone cannot explain any subtle coloristic flair, or ingenuity, or originality.
Judging by the few statements of the photographer, you can see that he puts much more meaning in his work than it might seem at first glance. He talks about the relationship between the individual and the environment, the opposition of the eternal and the transitory, the need for a person to adapt to constantly changing conditions. And space becomes for him a symbol of limiting human independence.
For some, the invisible man is the hero of a science fiction novel, but for Bence Bakonyi Is the most ordinary person living in the modern world.
