The 90s were the time when the whole country found itself at a crossroads. The old system collapsed, and the new one was just taking its first steps. Confused people were forced to adapt to new realities and survive as best they could. The changes also affected the cinema: the old school turned out to be of no use to anyone, and many yesterday's stars were thrown to the sidelines of life without a livelihood. Unfortunately, not all of them managed to adapt to the brutal reality.

Vladimir Ivashov (1939-1995)

For a 20-year-old student of VGIK, the role in Grigory Chukhrai's film "The Ballad of a Soldier" became a truly golden ticket. The talented debutant was noticed even abroad: he was nominated for the BAFTA award, and the monument to the Soviet soldier in Bulgaria began to be named Alyosha in honor of the actor's character in the film. After such success, Ivashov had no shortage of work: among his star roles, Pechorin in “Hero of our time ", Colonel Kudasov's adjutant in" The Crown of the Russian Empire … "(it was Vladimir who sang the famous song" Russian Field "), etc. But it seemed that the directors appreciated him only for his bright appearance, without offering serious images that could reveal all the facets talent of the artist. Even in the theater-studio of the film actor, a man for 30 years had only two worthwhile work.

In the 90s, there was no place for Vladimir in the cinema, from the theater he was also "asked": one of his last great works was the role in the film "Manuscript", which premiered in 1992. And then oblivion set in. Suffering from lack of demand, the actor was forced to make a living as best he could: he got a job as a laborer, worked at a construction site, hauled loads, kneaded concrete … By the way, his wife, one of the most beautiful Soviet actresses Svetlana Svetlichnaya, washed the floors of rich people and traded in sneakers …

In the spring of 1995, Ivashov ended up in the hospital: a stomach ulcer opened. But, as it turned out, the doctor who performed the operation was drunk. The actor's heart could not stand repeated surgical intervention.

Mikhail Kononov (1940-2007)

Nestor Petrovich in "Big Change" - it was this role that brought fame to Mikhail Kononov, although initially the actor refused to play in this picture, since he did not like the script. In general, the actor's filmography includes more than 60 works.

But in the 90s, the artist went into the shadows. It cannot be said that he was not offered a job: he was called to the cinema, but he himself refused to act on principle, speaking negatively about the state of Russian cinema. And his comical appearance played a cruel joke with the man: he was almost not considered for serious roles. Moreover, Kononov refused to communicate and make friends with the new generation of actors.

Poverty forced the actor to sell his apartment in the capital and settle in the village. A tiny pension was chronically not enough, so the actor sold vegetables grown in his garden to fellow villagers. In the late 90s, Kononov wrote a book of memoirs, but none of the publishers wanted to publish it. The artist died in 2007 from thromboembolism - alcohol and hard physical labor undermined his health.

Tamara Nosova (1927-2007)

"Wedding in Malinovka", "Hello, I am your aunt", "Kingdom of crooked mirrors" - films in which the incomparable Tamara Nosova shone. She was also in demand on the stage, having devoted many years to work in the Theater of the Film Actor. But in 1982 the actress's adoptive mother passed away, after which she began to lead a reclusive lifestyle, and after she starred in Dead Souls in 1984, came long break for ten years.

In 1990, Nosova was fired from the theater. And she was not just without a livelihood: chronic heart ischemia did not give the artist a chance to find a normal job. Tamara's tiny pension was not even enough to pay the rent bills. And her house was in such a terrible state that the toilet in it did not work for many years, and rats walked freely around the room. The actress ate in a social cafeteria for the homeless and took home trash from the nearest landfills.

In the spring of 2007, the actress suffered a stroke, but no one worried about why she had not been seen for a long time. She lay in a dirty apartment for several days, and the policemen who opened the door saw a terrible picture: rats and cockroaches were running over the body of the deceased actress.

Gennady Korolkov (1941-2007)

Fyodor Morozov in the TV series "Shadows disappear at noon" - it is for this role that Gennady Korolkov is remembered by the audience. The actor also starred in other famous films: "Tavern on Pyatnitskaya", "Three Days of Viktor Chernyshev", "State Border", etc.

However, with the arrival of the 90s, yesterday's star of the screen turned out to be of no use to anyone. In the theater, Korolkov was only trusted to play in children's performances, and in order to feed his family, he was forced to get a job as a cloakroom attendant. The actor began to look for consolation in alcohol. By the way, after a while he was occasionally invited to the cinema again, but he played mostly alcoholics. Soon his wife left Gennady, and he himself died in 2007 in complete poverty.

Victor Ilyichev (1946-2010)

The artist is one of the twenty most filmed Soviet actors. "The most charming and attractive", "Green van", "Dog in the manger" - this is only a small part of his works, because in the filmography of Ilyichev there are more than a hundred films.

But, like many actors from the old guard, Victor with the onset of the 90s was not in demand. Therefore, when his wife, ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater Svetlana Osieva emigrated to America, Ilyichev went after her. True, a year later he returned to his homeland, but after a while he again went to the United States, this time for good.

However, in a foreign country, the actor's career did not go uphill: he played in only three films. Therefore, Ilyichev was forced to pack goods in the store and work as a cleaner. A man died in the fall of 2010 from bladder cancer.

Igor Starygin (1946-2009)

Perhaps the most famous work of Starygin is the role of Aramis in the film "D'Artanyan and the Three Musketeers". But unlike other colleagues who also gained popularity thanks to this tape and managed to stay afloat, Igor's career was not so rosy.

The actor had a break on stage for 16 years: his last role was dated 1990, and he returned to the theater only in 2006. There was also a lull in the cinema: in 1993 he played in the movie "The Secret of Queen Anne, or The Musketeers Thirty Years Later", and again appeared on the screen only in 2000, appearing in the film "24 Hours". Starygin was sorely lacking money to live on. In addition, he began to drink a lot. Poverty and love for alcohol led to the fact that in 2009 the actor died of the consequences of a stroke at the age of 63.

Radner Muratov (1928-2004)

"Vasily Alibabaevich" from "Gentlemen of Fortune" was the real king of episodes. Debuting in 1952 in the film "The Composer Glinka", he starred in more than eight dozen films. But in the "new" time, the actor was overboard. In addition, his love of excitement also let him down: Muratov lost all his money, betting on the races at the hippodrome. Radner made his last appearance in the cinema in 1987, and spent the last years of his life in complete poverty: he was forced to sleep right on the floor, on newspapers. In addition, his situation was worsened by Alzheimer's disease: the actor stopped recognizing even loved ones, often left home and wandered the streets, and a couple of months before his death he disappeared altogether. In 2004, a man was taken to his grave by a stroke.
