Designers work in different ways - sometimes they make projects to order, other times they find inspiration for them, as creators, and sometimes projects are timed to some events. And today we are just talking about the latter.
In Australia, in Sydney this year, the Vivid festival was held, this is a festival of music and light, about which our portal already mentioned … However, I would like to dwell on one of the installations presented at this festival in more detail, since interesting facts about it have become known. During the festival, which lasted almost three weeks, many light and musical installations were shown, one of which is this vase. Its dimensions are simply gigantic - as we can see in the photograph, the vase is three times as tall as an ordinary person, and if you count with "flowers", then six or seven. However, why did we put the word flowers in quotation marks? And the fact is that this vase is filled not with fresh flowers, but with light ones - that is the whole point of the project. Made in the form of a huge flower vase with the same huge flowers, the project is interesting not only for its appearance, but also for the numbers. And here there is something to gossip about.
For example, it is known that 84 cables were used to create the installation, the length of which exceeded 200 meters in total! This is if we talk about glowing flowers, but for the operation of all this equipment, three balls were taken, and in total they provided 450V of energy! Well, one cannot fail to note the vase itself or, most likely, the pot - this lump resembles it more. It was made of galvanized steel, iron sheets and plywood. It's hard to imagine a vase made of such materials, isn't it? But considering the size of the installation, the choice of materials is quite clear.
And although there was a huge number of various installations at the festival, this one attracted a lot of residents and tourists with its size and beauty. Still, not every day you see a vase with such beautiful flowers. Which, with all this, is several times higher than your height.
The project was created by the designer Warren Langley
