Original hairstyles - a kind of sculpture that does not leave anyone indifferent: whoever does not admire it will surely be indignant. Isn't this the power of art! But that's not all: it turns out original hairstyles help treat leukemia and lymphoma … A session of such therapy was recently held in Moscow: the Alternative Hair Show 2011 charity show took place not just anywhere, but in the Kremlin Palace itself! We will tell you about him.
We have already written about such unusual head decorations as the hat of a thousand eggs for the African mad hatter, or the incredible female hats at the royal races in Ascot; but still, hair jewelry can be no less original. Especially when it comes to the Alternative Hair Show - perhaps the most significant project in the world in the field of hairdressing fashion. The organizer of the event, the famous maestro of scissors and curling irons, Tony Rizzo, calls the show "Eurovision among stylists".
The strongest teams, including those from Russia, competed in the invention of amazing hairstyles, costumes and accessories in harmony with them; the theme of the hairstyle festival was "illusion".
If you are wondering how original hairstyles are saved from cancer, then everything is simple: the main task of the Alternative Hair Show was to raise funds for a charitable foundation that helps patients with leukemia and lymphoma. Half of the proceeds collected by the event went to Great Britain, and the other (about 6 million rubles) went to our sick compatriots.
By the way, during the existence of the show, it has raised 8 million pounds, which saved more than one life from leukemia, or, at least, gave the patients several priceless years. The idea of fighting cancer has been at the heart of Alternative Hair Show since its foundation in 1983: the impetus for the first festival was the death of Tony Rizzo's son from leukemia, after which the famous stylist, recovering from grief, realized: beauty can save people (and then the world).

Head in bricks. Original hairstyles from Lego bricks in the art project of Elroy Klee
Lego constructors have long ceased to be a toy for children, and in recent years they are drawing adults deeper into their networks, inspiring them to original creative projects. Lego bricks are used to build a model of the country of the future and an Olympic stadium, a copy of the Roman Colosseum and figurines of various dishes. Designer Elroy Klee also did not remain indifferent to the creative potential of these colorful cubes, and used them to implement his fashion project called Mindplay: bri

The world of collections and the "get-together" of collectors is wide and varied. So, in the world, probably, there is no such item that would not become an object for collecting in one form or another. And in Turkey, in the city of Avanos, in Cappadocia, there lives a potter named Chez Galip, who has a whole museum of … women's hair in the basement of his workshop. The number of multi-colored strands of different lengths totals more than 16,000 copies
Hair Embroidery. Hair embroidery of Zaira Pulido (Zaira Pulido)
So, the finest hour has come for those girls who did not shy away from needlework lessons at school and listened carefully to their mother or grandmother, who taught knitting and embroidery to "their clever girl." It is fashionable to embroider and knit nowadays, and not only fashionable, but also profitable, especially if the needlewoman has golden hands and her imagination is in order. So, the other day we talked about how the Japanese artist Miyuki Sakai embroiders illustrations on a sewing machine, and today we will tell you about the unusual portraits that you embroider
