If it comes to talking about which beach is the most beautiful in the world, there will be no end to the disputes of experienced tourists: somewhere there is beautiful clear water, somewhere there are excellent waves and rocks, and somewhere the most delicious "honey baklava", and that's enough. But for those who have visited California on the beach of McKericher National Park, such a question will not even arise: which beach can be more beautiful than lined with a shining carpet of glass diamonds, rubies and emeralds! And the most amazing thing is that it arose from an ordinary landfill.

Forty years ago, on the coast of the ocean near the California town of Fort Bragg, nothing boded glory the most beautiful beach in the world. Household rubbish, wrecked cars reigned here (yes, in the USA it is customary to throw them in a landfill, not keep them in the yard) - and, of course, tons of broken glass.

But over time, the ecological thinking of local residents has developed to such an extent that they realized that man-made pollution pollutes the water very much! Environmental activists took the posters into their weary hands, and already in 1967, the Northern Coast Water Quality Council ordered the landfill to be closed. And it was really closed - in order to reopen it in 30 years, but already as a miracle of nature.

Over the years, the ocean has grinded broken bottles into glass fragments, and greedy waves licked them with rough tongues to such an extent that it became impossible to cut yourself. As a result, an incredibly beautiful beach appeared, which would even be difficult to create artificially: under the bright rays of the Californian sun, every pebble looks like a jewel. Glass beach rushed to refer it to McKericher National Park: in 2002, park staff removed everything that was unnecessary, like broken household appliances, and the coast literally shone. Now it is a place of pilgrimage for tens of thousands of tourists.

The only thing that threatens the glass beach is visitors eager for beautiful pebbles. However, there is enough glass for everyone, and if there is not enough, you can always add more. And then nature will work again - the only force that can turn the ugly dump into the most beautiful beach in the world.
