Artist Gwenn Simel says that by painting portraits, she provides herself with an appreciative audience of at least one person. However, the public has different attitudes towards these creations. Some say that Gwenn Simel's bright paintings are delightful, that they radiate happiness. Others are convinced that the portraits are monstrous and even obscene. The author herself believes that they are all right.
Gwenn Seemel lives in Portland (USA) and has been making a living by painting for 8 years. The craftswoman works almost constantly. Imagine, every week she paints from a portrait - a real art conveyor! The thing is that Gwenn Simel dreams of portraying all the people on the planet - and then it's possible for a well-deserved rest. The secret of her success lies in her constant work, frequent exhibitions and an unwillingness to give up even after devastating criticism.
Before starting work on the next painting, Gwenn Simel talks to the subject for a long time and takes hundreds of photographs. The artist does not like empty chatter, but she is happy to ask personal questions. Well, the profession gives her a great opportunity to avoid boring conversations about the weather at the first meeting and go straight to interesting topics. And hundreds of pictures are needed in order to find the moment when a person gets tired of posing and becomes himself.
Gwenn Simel devotes a lot of time to understanding the person being portrayed, to find out in what color he sees the world (both figuratively and literally). But she does not accept any advice on what needs to be redone in the picture. There was a precedent, and the artist said that if she began to change something on someone else's orders, it would no longer be fully her work. The customer was imbued with, and six months later he even loved his portrait.
The style of Gwenn Simel's striking paintings is easily recognizable. Multi-colored shading, catchy tones and unexpected combinations make her life-affirming paintings special. And this special style was developed in his youth, but not in painting classes, but during training in engraving.
At the age of 15, a beginner and never a distinctive artist was enrolled in courses at a local college. In her engraving class, she learned how to shade certain areas with shading. And then she began to embody the same in color, painting bright pictures with acrylic paints. Over the years, Gwenn Simel's style has changed, but the main principle remains the same: a lot of strokes instead of a solid outline and background.

Women, bright colors and a little nervous: paintings by DeAngel
Artists who pay tribute to female beauty in their canvases are always good, but often very boring. What can not be said about the works of the Spaniard DeAngel, who, apparently, due to the hot Spanish temperament, puts some special nerve into each of his creations, thanks to which a vivid picture simply explodes with emotions, not to mention how beautiful all the heroines of his paintings are
