How do you feel when you see hundreds of paper airplanes flying around a huge empty hall? The artist, who breaks loose under the pseudonym Dawn NG, believes that it should be nostalgia and homesickness. To illustrate these considerations, he created an unusual installation called "I fly like paper get high like planes".
Paper planes are something from childhood. From the almost forgotten time, when the trees were big, the parents were young, the ice cream was delicious. And every day was full of discoveries and surprises.
It is these feelings associated with longing for that serene time, with nostalgia for a long-abandoned house, the artist Dawn NG is trying to evoke in viewers with the help of his installation “I fly like paper get high like planes”.
To do this, he strung hundreds of paper airplanes on strings emanating from a bright light source. The result was a whole air armada, the main task of which is not to bombard military bases and peaceful cities, but to bomb the brain of people who saw this installation.
“I want to go home!”, “I want to be little again!”, “I want to go to my mother!” - such thoughts, as conceived by Dawn NG, should cause the audience to contemplate this installation.
It's not clear if "I fly like paper get high like planes" really evokes a strong sense of nostalgia. But she definitely causes a desire to go home in many.

Breathtaking black and white photos of planes flying overhead
First of all - planes … Apparently, this is exactly what Austrian photographer Josef Hoflener decided to himself, going with his son to Maho Beach, which is located next to the runway of Princess Juliana International Airport. The fact is that it is there that planes fly over vacationers so low that people are simply breathtaking. It was this moment that the photographer tried to convey in a series of black and white photographs, relaxing on the beach from 2009 to 2011
How planes were hijacked in the USSR, and who dared to commit such a flagrant crime
According to publicly available information, in the history of the USSR there have been more than a hundred hijackings of aircraft, some of which have a happy ending. But there are also known particularly daring, desperate, cruel crimes that ended in the deaths of innocents and the sacrifice of the crews. Although some motives can be called noble in one way or another, disasters often occurred during their performance
Planes first: airports in Jeffrey Milstein's photographs
It is not known how the personal life of the photographer Jeffrey Milstein developed, but there is no doubt that for him “planes first, and girls later,” there is no doubt. Something of his photographs, taken from a bird's eye view, resemble a giant scrapbooking - the largest airports in America and the road junctions adjacent to them look like intricate patterns
Dogs and planes in a witty project by production studio Ink
As you know, planes come first, and girls come later. However, if we are talking about dogs, then it is possible at the same time. Such an unusual series of hybrids "airplane dogs" was presented to the audience by the production studio Ink. An attempt to combine two opposite images (severe WWII fighters and cute pets) turned out to be quite successful: unusual fluffy flying vehicles will definitely make you smile
What were silent about in Brezhnev times: Explosions in the Mausoleum, hijacking of planes and other non-Soviet incidents
It is believed that the Brezhnev era was a time of quiet stability without large-scale social upheavals. The Stalinist terror was a thing of the past, and it was still a long way from military conflicts in the Caucasus and Central Asia. But it was during these quiet years that several terrorist attacks took place, about which the newspapers wrote almost nothing and the media did not speak
