Arab men treat their women very cruelly - this has long been known to the whole world, and there are countless precedents when a wife was mutilated by a harsh husband, or even killed by him or his relatives. Yemeni girl Nujud Ali was only 10 years old when she ran away from her abusive and irritable husband by taking a taxi to the courthouse in Sana'a, Yemen. The girl's courageous act and the court case that she subsequently won turned her into an international heroine, a fighter for women's rights. Today Nujud Ali is divorced, she returned home with her family and went back to school. Photo: Stephanie Sinclair.

Kermode bears have to eat "pasture" in the form of berries, fruits and roots in autumn, when the amount of salmon in the rivers decreases and there is no other food left but plant food.

Fishermen who fish on the northern Inle Lake in Myanmar (Burma) have learned to row dexterously not with their hands, but with their feet, since they need their hands free to be able to fish. And also to attract tourists who would like to make a fascinating journey to the land untouched by civilization.

The photographer managed to make an amazing photo "Brooklyn Bridge in the bedroom" in a very tricky way. So, to give the picture a certain surrealism, he placed the camera in the room and kept the shutter open for five hours. Photo: Abelardo Morell.

This family of shepherds has been caring for sheep and goats for a century. They graze their livestock in the Welsh area, on the slopes of Karadzha Dag, which is just 60 miles from the archaeological site of Gobekli Tepe, where, according to one of the scientists' versions, one of the first varieties of wheat was grown, and also sheep and goats were domesticated for the first time.

On the left side of the wall of the Egyptian temple at Dendera is an excellently preserved relief depicting Cleopatra, one of the few images that bear her name. An unknown maestro portrayed Cleopatra as a pharaoh making offerings to the gods.
