All artists can be conditionally divided into two categories: some draw from childhood and over the years only develop and improve their talent, while others come to painting already in adulthood and until a certain moment they themselves are not aware of their abilities. Michael Indorato belongs to the second category: a person who is used to expressing his emotions and demonstrating strength in sports competitions once took a brush and began to paint.
The first "bell" on the way to a creative career was the fight for the title of champion in wrestling, which took place back in 1988 at the educational institution of our hero. Winning the competition meant a lot to Michael, but still he lost that day. “I think about it all the time,” says Indorato. "You can call it a complex if you want, but I always have to be the best." Fate prepared the next test for Michael in 1996: “I was expelled from college, I was all in debt, and besides, I suffered from unrequited love. I moved to southern California running from problems. I was very lonely and one day I realized what to do. " The author went to the store and bought paints and canvas.
The themes of Michael Indorato's paintings are quite diverse: there are series on political and religious themes, there are images of women and floral motives. The author has a lot of sources for inspiration. Sometimes it is the joy experienced by him or the beauty seen in nature or people. But mostly his inspiration comes from "sadness and deep feelings of concern for the state of our people and the world in general."
The author does not get tired of drawing endless parallels between his sports past and creative activity. “I never plan the content of my paintings in advance, - says Michael in an interview, - I just follow my feelings. When I fought, the technical side was always secondary, while the main ones were feelings and fortitude."
“When I was young, I fought my opponent in competitions,” says Michael. "Now I am fighting him on canvas … and this rival has always been and will be myself."
