Remember the famous aphorism that dance is a verse in which every movement is a word. It turns out that a dance can be not only a poem, but also a drawing. Artist Heather Hansen from New Orleans managed to combine these two arts in experimental project "Emptied Gestures" … In this performance, the body acts as a brush: every movement of Heather Hansen becomes a pattern against a snow-white background.
Dark paint was applied to Heather Hansen's body, which "imprinted" on a two-dimensional surface. Thus, the dance literally froze, and every movement of the dancer was akin to an artist's brushstroke. The entire process of creating an unusual image was captured by photographer Bryan Tarnowski. In the pictures you can see how the girl was moving step by step.
Heather Hansen herself admits that the performance caused a storm of emotions in her. She tried to find a way to convey dynamic movements and gestures in the frozen forms of the drawing. Judging by the result, we can safely say that she succeeded.

Drawings with stains from juice, tea and coffee. Experimental painting by German artist Angela Otto

Everyone does this - but not the young German artist with the long, beautiful name Angela Mercedes Donna Otto. She treats every speck with tenderness, loves every puddle of coffee or spills
