Artist by name Janne Kearney lives and works in Australia, in a city called Geelong West. The girl considers her work to be directed against traditional beliefs and prejudices, and herself as a rebellious artist. So, in her paintings, Eva is represented as a middle-aged and fat depraved woman, the god of wine and fun Bacchus is a wise experience, but an old man who has not lost his charm, and Pygmalion is just a man who fanatically loves tattoos. One of the most unusual collections of works by this author is called the Tattoo series. It is in this series that we look not so much at people as at the stories of their lives, and we can only guess how they came to this.
Janne Kearney's paintings are called complex, full of texture and color, created in a modern, realistic manner of painting. In them you can find something from old illustrations in books and magazines, something from playing cards, and, of course, a little retro in every dash and every brushstroke.
True, the question still arises of what traditional beliefs and prejudices have to do with it. But let the art critics get it, the paintings by Janne Kearney will be enough for us.
