Previously, users of cars, bicycles or radios knew very well what these devices are made of and how they function. Modern man perceives these and other mechanisms as something single, integral piece of metal or plastic. Therefore, the photo artist Todd McLellan and created the project Things come apart, within the framework of which he showed people aspects of various mechanisms and devices that were previously closed to them.

The Things Come Apart project consists of several dozen photographs in which the viewer can see a particular device or mechanism, disassembled to the smallest detail as much as they can be disassembled.

Images from Todd McLellan show a mobile phone, a bicycle, a small harvester, a toaster, a computer printer, and a desk lamp.

Moreover, each of these objects was photographed twice. The first shot shows a fully disassembled device, the parts of which are neatly laid out on the surface next to each other. But the second image gives a better understanding of what kind of mechanism is depicted on it. After all, the details mentioned above are more or less structured, and, with a technical imagination, the viewer can imagine what kind of device and how exactly they can be assembled.
