Loneliness is a strange thing. There are already more than six billion people on Earth, and some of us cannot find one single soul mate. Sometimes the whole life passes in such unsuccessful searches, and sometimes it seems to us that there are a lot of friends around, but at some point you realize that this is just an illusion. The theme of loneliness is the theme of the installation "Alone in a Crowd" by Swiss designer Rolf Sachs.
The installation, presented last week at the Gabrielle Ammann Gallery (Cologne) as part of Design Miami / Basel, is a dining table with a transparent lid, under which life is boiling. Rolf Sachs placed 511 miniature human figurines of different sexes, ages and professions under the glass. Tiny little people are busy with a variety of things: they sunbathe, rush to shop, take the kids for a walk and - where without it - make love.
“From a distance, it may seem that people form groups, but from a close distance, you can see that everyone is on his own,” says the author. True, in some cases, the little men do interact with each other: in this way, Rolf Sachs means families. Above the heads of little people, the designer placed the hands of a clock as a symbol of the transience of time and the fragility of human lives.
For his work, Rolf Sachs used hand-painted figures of people from the famous German manufacturer Preiser, made on a scale of HO (1:87). According to the author, such an installation allows people, as it were, to look at their own lives and make sure that in the end, each of us is alone in his own way, despite the “crowd” around.

Irina Alferova - 70: Why one of the most beautiful actresses for 17 years was not allowed out of the crowd
On March 13, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Irina Alferova, who was called "the most beautiful face of Russian cinema", turns 70. Her career can hardly be called unsuccessful - there are about 50 roles in her filmography, but at the same time, the main ones among them are insultingly few. In the theater, she also remained on the bench for many years. She did not make scandals, did not enter into an argument with the directors, but at the same time, many of them did not like her. Why did Mark Zakharov not let her out of the crowd for 17 years, and for

Scattered Crowd. "Small crowd" of balloons in a musical installation by William Forsythe
A spacious hall with high columns, in it there are thousands of white figures, and they all move smoothly, selflessly to the beat to the beautiful gentle music of Ekkehard Ehlers. This is not a royal ball, not a concert for the intelligentsia, and not even shooting a movie, video, commercial or show, but an amazing, incredibly beautiful musical installation Scattered Crowd, which was recently seen by visitors to the Bockenheimer Depot gallery in Frankfurt, Germany. It was written by renowned choreographer William Forsyth (W
Faces in the crowd. Art project In a Crowd by artist Guilherme Kramer
Every day we meet on the way a variety of people: acquaintances, strangers, bystanders, fellow travelers in the subway, elevator, bus. And at the end of the day, and even more so a week, there are so many of these meetings that all the faces eventually merge into one big crowd, where it is no longer clear who is who, and by what fate. And in this crowd it is so easy to get lost, as if in the Japanese subway at rush hour … Among people, but still alone - this feeling was tried to convey by his art project a Brazilian artist
