"Awakening" - this is the name of a bronze statue of a giant who, after a long hundred-year sleep, unexpectedly woke up and frantically tries to get free, breathe fresh air with his chest and stand on solid ground, fear and frighten everyone around with his formidable appearance and impressive growth.
Awakening is the creation of the American realist sculptor John Seward Johnson, one of his most impressive and impressive works.
John Stewart Johnson is world famous for his bronze statues. Interestingly, he began his career in 1968 as an artist, but later turned his talent to such an art form as sculpture. Since that time, about 250 bronze figures of human growth have been exhibited in private collections and museums in the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia. The Awakening giant statue was originally installed in Potomac Park, Washington, USA. In fact, the sculpture is made up of five separate parts that create the illusion of one whole. Close to the Potomac River, the area where the statue is located was sometimes completely submerged, giving the giant an even more dramatic appearance. He became like Neptune, trying not to drown in the waves of his own possessions.
But last year, a massive 30-meter-tall bronze statue changed its location, emerging from the ground in National Harbor, Maryland.
