Everything the British artist undertakes Damien Hirst, makes a lot of profit. He uses this, creating works, as if stamping them. His next project was Bass Guitar series Spun Guitar series … True, this project is rather not a commercial one, but a charitable one!
Damien Hirst has been featured on numerous occasions in the creation of works of art commissioned by the business. Examples include his skateboard series and the Somerset Cider brandy label. And his new works are generally bass guitars! And in this he was helped by the guitarist of the legendary band Red Hot Chili Peppers - Michael Peter Balzari, known under the pseudonym Flea.
Together, Hirst and Flea have created the Spun Guitar series, featuring one model of this musical instrument in three different color variations: Multi colored deluxe spin, Black and White and Color spin bass guitar.
A total of 125 bass guitars will be released in the Spun Guitar series. Moreover, each of them will have the real signatures of Damien Hirst and Flea, and the set will also include a box with picks originally designed by this duo, a case in a unique color scheme, photographs of the duet with autographs and a small canvas with a butterfly painted on it by Hirst.
Of course, the proceeds from this unusual artistic and musical project will go not to its creators, but to charity. To be precise, all the proceeds will go to a fund created by Flea to support the Silverlake Conservatory of Music in California. This institution popularizes music, considering that its study is one of the most powerful factors for positive change in society.
The Silverlake Conservatory of Music is based in Los Angeles and teaches music for free to children and teenagers from a wide variety of backgrounds. Indeed, for many of them, music is the only possible chance to escape from their environment, to achieve something in life.
