Only the gorillas themselves, as well as ecologists and authors of an amazing eco-project, know how difficult it is for gorillas to live in the wild. Wow! Gorillas, artists Tom Lane and Ged Palmer … Well, and 60 more artists and sculptors participating in this project, which began in the summer, and in 10 weeks attracted public attention to the problems of African gorillas. Within the framework of the project, a magnificent thermosensitive statue of a gorilla was also presented, which will be discussed in today's article. The gorilla looks black. But this is only as long as the temperature is moderately low on the street or in the room where she stands. When heated, the black paint begins to fade, and then a variety of symbolic letters, with which the artists covered their work, appear. We will hardly be able to read the entire text, but the general meaning of what has been written is clear: the authors of the sculpture and the Wow! The Gorillas urge the public to pay attention to the gorilla's plight and help them in one way or another.
Black heat-sensitive paint reacts to fan heaters and hot water, to the sun's rays and the touch of warm human palms. The painted gorilla is installed in the UK, where you can see and touch it with your own hands. The entire project is timed to celebrate the 175th birthday of the Bristol Zoo in the UK.
The thermosensitive gorilla sculpture is known to have earned its creators, Tom Lane and Ged Palmer, silver and bronze awards at the Fresh Digital Awards, and they received £ 5,000 for it at a charity auction.
