"Pixel technology" to Anne Drew

Anne Drew (Annie Drew) from Devonshire is only 19 years old, but the girl has already become famous thanks to her invented method of drawing - "pixel technique".

Despite the name, Anne Drew's painting style has nothing to do with computers. She draws by hand, with paints, but instead of a paintbrush she uses a small wooden stick, very much like a match, but somewhat larger in size. The resulting paintings resemble large mosaics or digital photographs broken into individual pixels - hence the name of the technique.

The artist's work requires a lot of perseverance and patience. For example, to create an image of a gorilla, the girl had to apply about 75 thousand strokes of 40 shades of paint to the canvas, and the total time spent on the painting was more than 100 hours.

Anne Drew is from Torquay (Devonshire, UK). While attending college, the girl discovered that she was being taught "not at all the style of painting" that she wanted to learn. After graduating from the course, the artist preferred to further comprehend the wisdom of art on her own. It took Anna about a year to perfect her invented painting technique. She proudly says that no one in the world before her used "pixel technique" to create paintings.

One of the dominant themes in the artist's work is the depiction of wildlife, and in particular wild animals. And although this topic is not new, Anna is convinced that it will never lose its relevance. “If through drawing and canvas you can realize the wonders of nature, then I can consider my goal achieved,” says the artist.

Anna dreams of making a successful career doing her favorite job. And her goal as an artist is to create paintings in which the maximum attention to detail will be paid, and at the same time, they will look as realistic as possible.
