If you come to London and look into the creative studio of the artist and sculptor Kate MccGwire, you will get the impression that a whole set of feather pillows has been gutted here, or a large dovecote has been equipped. After all, most of the room is occupied not by easels, plaster sculptures or elements of installations, but by feathers - whole sacks and packages with a variety of feathers. This is all - the stock of material with which Kate works, creating her unusual sculptures and installations.
Last year, the girl celebrated her five-year anniversary since she began to do this business, however, in such a short time she has already managed to take part in many national exhibitions, shows and festivals, as well as organize many solo "performances" for the public. It turned out that her abstract feather creations are popular and are of great interest to people of all ages and occupations.
Kate says about her work: “in order to find new forms and images, I go out into the street, into nature, and begin to observe, look out, inquire, as well as collect, search, process and recycle what I have found. And in the process something unusual is born that can be described in one word - a miracle. " Moreover, a miracle does not necessarily mean "magic" - most likely, it is a derivative of the word "weird, strange". After all, one has only to glance at the work of the sculptor, as it will immediately become obvious.
In addition to feathers, Kate McGwire also works with other organic, natural materials, but the artist's most stunning works are feather sculptures, unique and unique masterpieces.
