Each of us has already seen many examples of origami, and some even tried to master the art of folding paper on their own. But what Mui-Ling Teh is doing deserves special attention: the 23-year-old Canadian student creates some of the smallest origami in the world.
Mui-Ling Teh's works are so small that macro photography is needed to view them. But even this is not enough: the girl admits that sometimes she photographs her works through a magnifying glass. Considering the dimensions of origami, there is nothing surprising in this: the length of the smallest work is only 2 millimeters!
Mui-Ling Teh does not use any special tools to make his works: only paper and tweezers. It takes only 20 minutes to create one miniature sculpture. The girl says that her first works took about an hour, but now she does them much faster. And in general, the speed of folding origami depends on her state at the time of work and on how many times she had to create a similar figure in the past. The models that Mui-Ling Teh folds most often can be ready in as little as 10 minutes.
Mui-Ling Teh became interested in origami as a child: she folded her first works at the age of nine from candy wrappers. Since then, the size of her paper sculptures has become smaller and smaller, but the first truly miniature figurine appeared in April 2008. The girl mainly creates models of flowers, airplanes and birds. “It takes a lot of patience to do this,” says Mui-Ling Teh, even though it’s obvious.
Mui-Ling Teh was born in Ontario (Canada). Now a talented girl is studying to be an architect. More of her work can be seen here.
