The creative studio of Gabi Trinkaus is littered with glossy magazines, the pages of which our heroine does not get tired of shredding into small pieces to create her collages.
Gabi Trinkaus calls herself a “media thief” for cutting bright magazine pages and putting together portraits of people and landscapes from free-form particles. Initially, the author creates a pencil drawing and then attaches magazine clippings over it. It is interesting that Gabi does not fill the space of the drawing completely, but leaves free space. This technique adds depth and understatement to her images. The artist herself calls her work "reconstruction".
There is little information on the net about Gabi Trinkaus. The author was born in 1966 in Graz, Austria, and currently lives and works in Vienna. But there are a lot of reviews about Gaby's work - and the reviews are rather ambiguous. Some critics are completely delighted with her work and talk about the same understatement and depth.
