The artistic director of the Buranovskie Babushki collective Anna Prokopyeva assessed the likelihood of the victory of the singer Manizha (real name - Manizha Sangin) in the final selection of the Eurovision song contest. She shared her opinion with RT correspondents.
“I listened, watched, worried. Of course, I really feel sorry for Little Big, they are so different from all yesterday's participants … It would be better, of course, for them to go,”said Prokopyeva. She is sure that Manizha is not a suitable candidate for participation in this competition.
The artistic director of Buranovskiye Babushki noted that she did not want to offend anyone, but it seemed to her that this performer was not at all for Eurovision. Prokopyeva emphasized that folklore can be presented in different ways, but as a singer it is good and interesting. Speaking about the song number, the artistic director emphasized that the song clearly loses for an international competition of this level.
Criticized by Manizha and singer and composer Yuri Loza. The musician said that not a single song of the Russian participants became a real hit. "What songs of Manizhi or Little Big who sings in Russia?" he asked. And let us remind you that his hit “Raft” is sung by many Russians, especially when “taken on the chest”.
Loza said that this year, once again representing the country will be "something that no one here in Russia needs." The composer is sure that all Russian participants in the competition propose only themselves, but not the country. In addition, he chided the performers for not playing a single note of Russian. "Everything is American, Swedish, English, there is nothing of ours!" - he concluded.
Earlier Loza asked Russian artists not to sing at Eurovision in English. He believes that the music competition should become an arena for the popularization of Russian culture. According to him, this would make it possible to earn the respect of other powers.
Eurovision will be held May 18-22 at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam. Performers from 41 countries will take part in it. The organizers do not exclude that due to the pandemic, musical numbers for the show will be recorded in advance.
