Singer-hieromonk Photius, known as the winner of the 2015 Voice TV vocal competition (real name - Vitaly Mochalov), criticized the song of the singer Manizha, with which he will not represent Russia at Eurovision. RIA Novosti quoted his interview on April 1.

Vitaly Mochalov said that the track Russian Woman ("Russian woman") is nothing more than a deflection of Russia in front of Europe. In his opinion, the composition distorts the image of a Russian woman. The hieromonk emphasized that Manizha is a good singer who has "a lot of creativity", but at the same time she is not at all the same level as Morgenstern, or, there, Pussy Riot.

Earlier, a representative of the Russian Orthodox Church called the song Manizha unworthy and noted that the Russian public and women in particular were outraged by this song.

Valentina Matvienko, speaker of the Federation Council, also criticized the text of the Russian song for Eurovision. She even gave a receipt to request information about how they voted on the selection of a composition for Russia's participation in an international music competition. “These are horses, people, and in general some kind of nonsense. I don’t understand what it is at all,”she admitted.

Imam mukhtasib of the Moscow region Daud Mukhutdinov did not stand aside from this discussion either. In his opinion, the Eurovision participant represents the country, therefore “it is worth focusing on the perception of people”. He advised the singer to change the song for the Eurovision Song Contest, explaining this by the fact that this song received a lot of negative reviews.

At the same time, the imam stressed that traditionally religious ministers are not interested in the creative life of performers, since "the Almighty always gives a person the right to choose."
