On December 5, the press service of the Simferopol airport told about the desire of the management to place in the building the original painting by the famous artist Ivan Aivazovsky. To get a picture and the opportunity to use it to decorate the airport, you must obtain the appropriate permission from the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Feodosia Art Gallery.
This proposal was made by the management of the Simferopol airport for a reason, and after it was decided to assign the name of the famous marine painter Aivazovsky to this airport. This decision was made within the framework of a project called “Great Names of Russia”. It was for the change of the name to the airport named after Aivazovsky that a larger number of citizens who took part in the voting voted. By the way, this was a popular vote.
The press service of Evgeny Plaksin, who is the general director of the airport in Simferopol, said that they associate the inclination in popular voting to the name of Aivazovsky with the fact that the very structure of the airport is made in the form of a wave, and therefore echoes all the works of the great Russian artist. In the future, this topic can be expanded and can be reflected in exhibitions of reproductions, interactive expositions and souvenirs. If the Ministry of Culture and the art gallery meet the leadership of the Simferopol airport, then they will find a place for the original painting by Aivazovsky. The name of the artist Ivan Aivazovsky is planned to be displayed in the interior of the building and in the corporate style.
It is worth remembering that the popular vote was held between November 11-30. At this time, everyone could take part in such a vote. It searched for the names of great people for 47 airports in the Russian Federation. In total, more than five and a half million people took part in such a vote, available to all residents of the country. 2, 7 million of this number voted for their favorite option through social networks, the same number of citizens took part through offline voting. Through a call to the hotline, only 220 thousand people gave their votes.
The marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky was born in Feodosia, where he later decided to found an art gallery, which is considered one of the oldest art museums in the entire territory of the Russian Federation. It is in this gallery that the largest number of works by this artist is kept - 416 works of art. In total, this talented man has painted more than six thousand paintings in his life.
