Door handles can be used not only for opening and closing doors or as a sturdy blunt object in street fights. They may well become a metaphor for the discovery of new worlds, new horizons and respect for nature. It was in this form that the artist used them. Birgit Lohmann in his series of photos with a common name Esprit.
Overcoming borders, discovering new worlds is a part of human culture, human essence, which resulted in the Great Geographical Discoveries, scientific and technological progress and many other positive phenomena in the world. This process is the subject of a series of photographs Esprit (Spirit, Wit), created by Birgit Loman.
This episode was shot entirely in Singapore (including the top of the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel), and it depicts various places and objects of this city-state with doorknobs hung on them. Moreover, these devices can generally hang in the void.
Thus, Birgit Loman is trying to show that each time looking ahead, a person should see in front of him not a specific object or view, but a perspective that has yet to be discovered. Thus, the author turns our life into an infinite number of horizons, beyond which one wants to get, into a billion opportunities that can be realized, one has only to see them and tackle them.
In addition, in this series of photographs, Birgit Loman tries to draw attention to the preservation of the environment, the pristine beauty of nature. After all, the downside of progress is associated with serious damage to the planet Earth. And many people don't even notice it. And it should be!

Simple photographs can surprise and delight in terms of content, but not in terms of form. Knightly armor of the 16th century as a work of art: the work of a virtuoso gunsmith
Medieval knightly armor can be seen today in various museums around the world, but history has practically not brought the names of the masters of arms business to this day. Italian Filippo Negroli was a real virtuoso of coinage. He managed to turn helmets, shields and armor into exquisite jewelry, which knights flaunted on especially solemn occasions
