Ron Emig has been painting with oil paints for over forty years. In the distant nineties, he became interested in the theme of Westerns and has been painting in this style ever since. Grazing horses, canoes, Indians and treasure hunters, boundless prairies create a magnificent setting and take us into the atmosphere of a true western.
Hard work and the struggle for survival, the history of the country and the new civilization. This is the life of honest, strong and courageous people who for the first time set foot on wild and hostile lands in search of happiness. This is the environment of books, films and Western paintings. Works about real men and for real men. And the canvases of Ron Emig take us into this free, free element of the Wild West of the second half of the nineteenth century.
The artist has been traveling on the prairie for a long time, enjoying the charm of this picturesque corner of the Earth and looking for new themes for his paintings. “Even when I was a child, I used to sit at my desk to draw horses, cowboys and Indians. My parents were no longer even surprised to find me doing this. I drew them on every piece of paper, and often I drew my own hands. - says Ron Emig.
In 2006, Ron Emig was named Artist of the Year by Mid Missouri Fine Art Society. His works are exhibited in many galleries and are dearly loved by the public.
