The smell of French cinnamon buns and the delicate aroma of French perfume, the sophistication of Montmartre and the tranquility of the Champs Elysees, the sweetness and passion of French kisses, the astringency and viciousness of thin French cigarettes - all this can be seen and even felt in illustrations by an artist named Ludovic Jacqz … In Paris, they love stylish clothes and feminine beauty, and Louis Jacques, although he works in Bordeaux, lives according to the Parisian laws and rules of fine art. Doll girls in a glamorous setting, whose huge eyes resemble kawaii anime characters, nevertheless, are the author's project of Monsieur Louis. He thinks them over carefully, collects from the images bit by bit, by strings, which he pulls out of his favorite literary works, films, TV series, as well as "borrowing" some features and details from friends, acquaintances, and even from casual passers-by on the streets of Bordeaux.
So, Ludovic Jacques says that he loves the films of Sofia Coppola and Terry Zwigoff, in particular, "Lost in Translation" and "The World of Ghosts". She enjoys watching TV series and reading local newspapers. The artist considers the Beastie Boys to be his favorite group. Probably, all this can be found in his drawings, if you look carefully, but is it really necessary in order to just admire the paintings?
Among other things, Ludovic is a blogger and owns an account on Behance, where you can find many more of his great work.
