She was adorable, young Brigitte Bardot. The talented and sensual actress has always attracted attention. On the set, the actress met her colleague Jacques Charrie. A passionate romance ensued, but the actress did not plan to change anything in her life at all.

When Brigitte realized that she was expecting a child, she rushed to the doctors, hoping to have an abortion. It is worth noting that until 1975, abortion was prohibited in France. In 1959, when the actress became pregnant, she could only have an illegal abortion privately. But at that time she was already so famous that not a single doctor dared to carry out an underground operation.

Painful pregnancy

Later, Brigitte Bardot will say: she did not love Jacques Charrier so much as to create a family with him. However, the upcoming birth of a child forced her to accept the actor's offer. In June 1959 she became the wife of Sharya. The actress spent the last months of pregnancy in her apartment, fearing even to open the curtains on the windows. The paparazzi literally surrounded her house, hoping to take at least one shot of pregnant Brigitte.

Pregnancy can hardly be called the happiest time in the life of an actress. She felt bad and suffered from the changes in her appearance. Brigitte wanted to go to her hairdresser to touch up the regrown hair roots, but her husband forbade her to leave the house. An attempt to disobey led to a quarrel, as a result, Jacques slapped her in a crack, and a crack appeared on the wooden cabinet door, which she hit. Falling, she hit her back hard and since then she was constantly tormented by renal colic.

When she tried to get out of the house a second time, wearing a wig and dark glasses, the paparazzi still overtook her, squeezed in a vice and scared her to death. Out of despair, Brigitte, returning home, drank all the sleeping pills that she found in the house. Doctors then pulled her out of the other world for a long time. She also gave birth at home, fearing all the same photographers. In the apartment opposite, a special room was equipped, where Nicolas-Jacques Charier was born at two o'clock in the morning on January 11, 1960. And Brigitte Bardot promised herself never to give birth again.

However, along with childbirth, the suffering of the actress did not end. She was forced to consent to the photographing the very next morning after the painful birth. She categorically refused to breastfeed her son.

Many years will pass, and Brigitte Bardot will write in her memoirs what feelings she experienced during pregnancy and in the first minutes of communication with her son. She named it a tumor that had been feeding on her body for nine months.

Maternal instinct

After the birth of the baby, Brigitte Bardot felt relief, but there was no need to talk about the awakening of the maternal instinct in her. Jacques Charier noted with chagrin that the baby did not evoke passionate feelings in her. Rather, the spouse is burdened by her forced motherhood. It is extremely rare that he noticed in Brigitte a manifestation of tenderness for Nicolas.

Even Roger Vadim, who came to visit the actress, drew attention to her inability to handle a newborn. Nicolas was only a few days old, and Bardo had already argued: the baby screams because he hates her.

Nicolas was adored by everyone around, and Brigitte, tired and exhausted, tried to match the image of a gentle mother, whom everyone wanted to see in her. Nicolas was 12 when he came to visit his mother. And he would have been completely delighted if she herself had not offended him by refusing to leave him for lunch because of the expected large number of guests.

The son was already 18 when they tried to mend their relationship again. Brigitte found her Nicolas very sweet, but communication then did not work out again.
