The works of Australian Jeremy Geddes are emotional and expressive. The inner tension of each painting literally breaks out of the canvas, and hyperrealism, the direction in which Geddes works, greatly enhances the impression of the image.
Born in New Zealand, Geddes grew up in Geelong and now lives and works in Melbourne. Since 2003, painting has become a permanent job for him. Prior to that, Jeremy was involved in the development of video games for a long time.
Talking about his work, Geddes says the following: “The process of creating each work is very methodical. Usually I make a small sketch of the future illustration, think about the composition, colors and tones. Often I have to redo everything many times, but thanks to such sketches, I can avoid many mistakes and improve the technique."
As with many other artists, creating illustrations for Geddes is another way of communication. “Each picture reflects certain emotions, it is important for me to convey these feelings to the viewer, although I understand that this kind of transfer is unlikely to be accurate, because we all perceive art“from our bell tower”, but I am interested in how others rethink my creativity”, - says the artist.
Among the artist's creative plans are self-improvement, mastering new techniques that would give freedom of self-expression, as well as preparation for large projects. Those who are familiar with the artist's work notice how much his skill has improved in recent years.
