Children are a small door to our own childhood. It is they who, with their sincere belief in miracles, literally force us to believe in them anew. Holidays, which have ceased to be something important for us, again begin to play for us with the lights of happiness and the feeling of something fantastic and magical. Apparently, therefore, looking at the paintings artist Inessa Morozova, we seem to live once again those moments of our childhood in which we were truly happy, spontaneous and trusting. Today in our virtual gallery there is a delightful series of works by the artist dedicated to children.
"World of childhood" by Inessa Morozova
Among the many varieties of portraiture, the most difficult, but perhaps the most attractive for the viewer, is a child's portrait. Not every portrait painter will undertake such work, since not every master is able to convey the living, sincere emotion of a child.
After all, childhood in its essence is a very carefree time, filled with magic and fantasy, sun and joy. This is when you can be sincerely surprised at everything, when everything that happens to you is for the first time, and each new day invariably carries so many incomprehensible and unusual things that not only captures the spirit, but also bursts with a storm of emotions.
But for the artist Inessa Morozova, childhood became the main theme of her work. She managed to stop in time for each of us those wonderful moments of our life long gone, making it possible to feel once again the bright and sincere world of a child in a series of her paintings.
The artist managed to find surprisingly subtle, sensitive and heartfelt visual means and ways of reflecting the child's perception of the world. In her painting, children's images are endowed with a charming originality, emotionality and psychologism, which are inherent in the best traditions of a child's portrait.
From her paintings, the brooding, capricious, enthusiastic, funny and sad faces of boys and girls gaze at the viewer. They live their own lives, while subconsciously copying the behavior of adults: facial expressions, gestures, words and emotions. No wonder they say: "A child is a mirror of the soul of the parents." Indeed, everyone, looking into the eyes of their baby, will certainly see their own reflection.
And although children will someday grow out of their adorable lace dresses, forget about their favorite dolls, teddy bears, bunnies and enter a completely different life, but now these angelic eyes look at us as they can only look in childhood, into the very soul - trustingly and openly.
The artist learned to notice the liveliness and restlessness of children, their curiosity and sincerity, trustfulness and compassion. She also learned to see and capture in paints the movement of a child's quivering and tender soul. In each of her works, one can clearly see the manifestation of childhood as a special happy life time.
It should be noted that children's joy is a separate magic. In moments of joy for the baby to the simplest things, he shines with happiness so much that we also begin to overwhelm us with this feeling. And seeing the upset or tear-stained face, the viewer's heart breaks to pieces from the pain, resentment, disappointment that the baby is experiencing.
Technique, manner, author's handwriting
The touching images of children are almost always part of the artist's genre paintings. Moreover, the kids do not pose at all, but live their own exciting life. Playing, reading, drawing, fishing, helping each other, they sincerely enjoy life and are sad. And the artist only stopped a period of time for a moment, fixing it on her canvas.
By the way, Morozova chose the most suitable technique, manner, and color - the impressionistic one, which allows to fully convey the first impression of what she saw: the play of sunlight and shadow, the vibration of the air and the subtle state of serene time.
It is also worth noting that the soft colorful palette emphasizes the master's manner in conveying mood, emotions and impressions. The artist uses wide body strokes of pure oil paints mixed with a softer manner of painting to convey images of childish images. Over the years of creative pursuits, the artist has developed her own recognizable author's handwriting and style.

For about two decades, Inessa has been a constant participant in numerous Moscow and All-Russian competitions, art forums, exhibitions, including personal ones. Her works are distributed among private collections and collections in Russia and abroad.
And finally, I would like to note that Morozova creates in various genres, not dwelling on only one. She also has wonderful landscapes and floral still lifes. And yet, today her most favorite themes are flowers and children. Which, if you think about it, is very symbolic - both bring harmony, purity, sincerity and positive emotions to the world.
Continuing the children's theme, read a fascinating story: "Children's Games" by Bruegel the Elder, which children played 5 centuries ago and are played today.
