In 2011, the legendary Coca-Cola drink celebrates its 125th anniversary! In honor of this event, on May 27, the exhibition "Coca-Cola: 125 Happy Years!" Will open in Moscow's GUM. The exposition will run until June 12.
Is there a soft drink more popular than Coca-Cola? There is no such! First of all, because in all corners of the world this name is invariably associated with fun and festive mood!
The history of Coca-Cola began on a hot May day in 1886, when American doctor John Smith Pemberton brewed syrup in the backyard of his house, designed to give vigor and relieve headaches. His partner Frank M. Robinson, who was fond of calligraphy, undertook to come up with a name and logo for the drink. He reasoned that two letters "C" side by side would look attractive, and then he wrote by hand: Coca-Cola.
For more than a century of history, the Coca-Cola drink has gone from a medical syrup to the most expensive brand in the world. What events accompanied this, you can find out by visiting the exhibition "Coca-Cola: Happy 125 Years!", The exhibits of which will be brought from the museum of the drink in Atlanta.
The exhibition will consist of several thematic sections: brand development against the background of historical events in the world, the appearance of the logo, the evolution of the design of advertising posters and branded Coca-Cola bottles, as well as exhibits that tell about the close cooperation between Coca-Cola and the Olympic movement. Indeed, since the summer competition in Amsterdam in 1928, Coca-Cola has been a permanent partner of the International Olympic Committee.
The Russian part of the exposition promises to be especially interesting, since Coca-Cola has a special relationship with our country. Having entered Russia for the first time, Coca-Cola has become practically the same symbol of the Moscow 1980 Olympics as the Olympic Bear. Today Coca-Cola is a global partner of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games and a partner of the Russian national football team.
