In Paris, 20 actors stripped to the waist took to the street in front of the French Ministry of Culture, demanding the authorities to open theaters that have been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is reported by the French media.

The action lasted about 20 minutes. Half-naked artists chanted the slogans "Theft, theft, theft of culture!" and "We will die, but not on stage." They wrote these and other slogans on their bodies.

In France, concert halls and cultural sites have been closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The interim regime applies to 120,000 employees and technicians, who are compensated on the condition that they have worked 507 hours in 12 months. President of the country Emmanuel Macron introduced this measure for one year, until July, but cultural workers demand to extend it for another year due to the prolongation of the crisis.

Since April 3, in France, quarantine has been extended to all regions of the country due to the deteriorating sanitary situation. The restrictions will be in effect for four weeks.

Earlier it was reported that the third wave of coronavirus hit Europe. The outbreak is blamed on new mutations of the virus and a sluggish campaign to vaccinate the population. The daily increase in new COVID-19 cases in Europe has reached record levels since early February, leading to renewed restrictions, curfews and even de facto lockdowns in some countries.
