The well-known 73-year-old Hollywood actor Harrison Ford decided to hold a charity auction in favor of Finding a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures, a non-profit organization that studies and treats diseases such as epilepsy. The organization works in conjunction with the Langon Medical Center of New York University. It was there that actress Georgia Ford, as you might guess, the daughter of Harrison Ford, underwent a course of therapy eight years ago.
According to the actor himself, his daughter always suffered from some strange seizures. For a long time, no matter how funny it is, doctors made wrong diagnoses and tried to treat the girl for everything they could, including migraines. However, only experts from the university were able to make the correct, disappointing diagnosis - epilepsy. After that, according to the actor, his daughter, the correct treatment was prescribed and for 8 years now.
One of the more interesting items for the upcoming auction will be an old leather jacket - a prop in which Harrison Ford played the role of the smuggler Han Solo in the Star Wars space opera. The initial price of the lot is relatively small - 37 thousand dollars, however, given the number of fans of the franchise, this amount can be increased many times during the auction. In addition, other iconic items belonging to the actor and used by him on the set will be sold at the auction. All proceeds will go to support epilepsy research.
To be fair, it should be noted that the auction will not be Harrison Ford's biggest investment in medicine. The actor is a regular at charity evenings, and also organizes such events himself. The proceeds from them also go entirely to support epilepsy research.
