Who among us has not noticed that at night the city becomes completely different? The bustle of the day disappears, thousands of lights are lit, bright spots of light contrast with the darkness, and the air is filled with the aromas of innuendo and mystery … The night city beckons, seduces, enchants - how can you resist it? American artist Alexandra Pacula doesn't even try.
“My works explore the world of visual intoxication, capturing the moments of charm that are associated with the life of the city at night,” says Alexandra. - I am in awe of the city's night time view and its seductive qualities. Cars flying through deserted streets and hurrying pedestrians evoke feelings of wonder and disorientation. Bright lights turn into magical landscapes with seductive possibilities and promises."
The artist deliberately avoids clear lines and plots in her paintings. She recreates the feeling of "dizziness" and confusion, in each of her works there is something elusive and elusive, because at night everything is not at all what it seems. Charm, desires, temptation - perhaps these three words best characterize the paintings of Alexandra Pacula, and it is their author that most often repeats when talking about his works.
Alexandra Pacula was born in Poland in 1979. When the girl was fourteen years old, her family emigrated to the United States. The artist currently lives and works in New York; she received her Master of Fine Arts from Montclair State University in New Jersey. Alexandra's paintings have been exhibited not only in the USA, but also in Great Britain and Spain.

Long exposure paintings. Night City Landscapes by Alexandra Pacula
The artwork of Brooklyn artist Alexandra Pakula may seem like blurry, spoiled photographs taken at night, long exposure, and without a tripod. And then they will seem uninteresting, well, perhaps abstractly bright. But the fact of the matter is that these are not photographs at all: Alexandra is a talented artist, and these paintings from the Blurry Night City series are painted with oil paints on canvas

Nightlife by British artist Nigel Cooke
Nigel Cooke's work is a dark and melancholic world, his paintings are full of the deepest psychology. "Atmospheric" landscapes suggest complete inaction of the authorities, and gloomy characters remind of devastation (which, as you know, is happening not in closets, but in heads). Cook's work is a symbol of how the allegorical world created by the author and inhabited by philosophers and poets can bring the attempts of producers (and the capitalist consumer society in general) to interact with living
