Shooting a landscape: expert advice

Many aspiring amateur photographers believe that landscape is the simplest genre of photography. Of course, there is some truth in this. If only because this genre is the most affordable, because it does not require renting a photo studio. After all, you can always take pictures of nature. If the picture was not successful, you can always go to this place, but in a different weather or at a different time of the day. In addition, you don't need a special super camera to shoot a landscape. Thus, a landscape masterpiece can be shot even with the Canon A60, but it is absolutely not suitable for portraits.

But despite its apparent simplicity, shooting a landscape is a real art. After all, it is not for nothing that there are works that cause delight, but there are also those that leave the audience completely indifferent (composition errors, banal plot, etc.).

So, the first thing to remember for those who dream of professional photography is the rule that “the photographer is shooting, not the camera”. This means that even buying professional equipment is not a guarantee that masterpiece photos will appear right away. Sometimes, in skillful hands, photography from a soap dish is much more interesting than from an expensive camera. Of course, it is better not to buy the cheapest camera. It is recommended to pay attention to cameras of the middle price category.

It is better to withstand some technical requirements when buying a camera. So, when choosing a camera from a huge range of online stores, you should pay attention to the matrix solution should be at least 6 megapixels. In this case, the photo can be printed in A3 format. But you shouldn't get carried away with “pixels”. It is optimal to pay about $ 400 for a camera with a resolution of 10-15 megapixels. If they offer less for this price, then the equipment will significantly lose in other positions. For zoom, 4x magnification is sufficient. In addition, the device must take pictures in RAW format. The camera should have “creative” shooting modes, not just resetting “landscape”, “portrait”, etc. And these are the minimum requirements.

Before you start taking photographs, it is recommended to get acquainted at least with a short course on composition. You can, of course, do endless tests, but this does not guarantee that the result will be at least one really good one.
